Congratulations to the following who won Scottish National titles at last week's Scottish Commonwealth Trials held at a very windy Pitreavie Track.
100m/200m Nick Smith 10.70secs (-3.5m/s)/21.39secs (-4.6 m/s)
400m Kris Robertson 47.07 secs Gemma Nichol 54.78 secs
LJ Jude Beimers 7.54m
TJ Jude Beimers 15.18m Noni Mordi 13.15m (sb)
Discus Angus McInroy 56.76m who also set a Scottish National Discus Record of 58.77m in Belgium during the previous week.

Both Chris Bennett with 62.41m (7.26k) and Dempsey McGuigan 66.89m (5k) both set personal bests at the Scottish Hammerama on 24th July.
In Hungary at the European Masters Championships Nina Anderson triumphed in both 400m 56.57 secs and 800m 2m12.40.

Shaftesbury athletes perform brilliantly at English Schools Championships:
32 Shaftesbury athletes represented their school counties at the ESAA Champs held last Friday and Saturday at Alexander Stadium, Perry Barr, Birmingham. Conditions were hot and humid on both days which was an added challenge for all the athletes.

Some pleasing mid-season performances by Shaftesbury athletes all round Europe
At the AAI Champs in Dublin Tom Carey ran 52.07secs for 400H while HCA Rose-Ann Galligan ran 2.03.35secs over 800 metres.
At the Aviva British Grand Prix in Gateshead Nick Smith ran 10.53secs for 100metres; Abi Oyepitan clocked 23.41secs over 200m and Marilyn Okoro showed improved form with a 2m01.55secs 800 ..
